Out of 2,124 polled, 11 per cent said they had tried to cut down on processed meat as a result of the media’s coverage of the publication of the cancer prevention report by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) last year. 37 per cent of over-55s cutting down on processed meat compared to just 6% of 18 to 34-year-olds. The survey also found that 26% of people have tried to eat more fruit and vegetables since the report; 18% are keeping a closer eye on their weight.
